Pictured: A low-flying, modified Bell 206 helicopter with an undercarriage-mounted array of magnetometers. The magnetometers are used to survey the area for metal debris that may indicate the presence of unexploded ordnance (UXO) left-over from World War II-era activities.
The work is part of an ongoing assessment and cleanup efforts by the US Army Corps of Engineers and MassDEP.
