Explored the Exuma islands from Norman’s Cay down to Staniel Cay. Total distance for the day was roughly 40 miles. We stopped half way at Warderick Wells to refuel on the beach. Warderick Wells is the headquarters of the Exuma Land and Sea Park. From there were continued south and discovered a nice beach at what turned out to be Johnny Depp’s private island “Little Halls Pond”. Continuing further south, our final stop before Staniel was at Thunderball Grotto. The cave is named after the James Bond movie “Thunderball” which had scenes filmed there. It was also used in the movies Splash and Into The Blue. The water currents through the cave are insane and swimming out of the cave was extremely difficult, especially while carrying gear. After leaving Thunderball we checked in at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, explored the island, and got some rest.
