just wanted to reply to what you said in your description – I also like to come back to the same places more than once. The first time you just get an idea for what is there and what places would be nice to stay at and then you come back and explore around more in depth and really get a good feel for the area… havent been to the Gulf Coast side since I was a kid but have just made plans for my second straight year based in Palm Coast on the Atlantic side. cheers!

I’ve driven those roads many times. My family used to vacation on St. George Island almost every year.
Lots of good buys in beach houses, condos and property. One huge problem, unless you are rich, the insurance and taxes will bankrupt you in short order. BTW, renting is the way to go, we find rentals on the Gulf in the 800-1000 dollar a week range all the time. This year we went to Cape San Blas, very near St Geo Isl. If ever you need any background info on the area, PM me and I can help. This is my backyard.
